Heralded as the
new ‘Dylan’ early in his career
Prine responded by staying true to himself and definitely trod his own
path.
‘Sam Stone’ is a favourite
anti war song and ‘Illegal Smile’
is always guaranteed to get the crowd joining in.
Prine’s lyrics are not for the glib being intelligent and
probing. John’s stage presence is magnetic and only adds to his status
as a very special songwriter and
performer.
